Panasonic released a brand-new digital camera interchangeable lens camera system - the Lumix G Micro System on September 2008. At the same time, Panasonic also announced a digital camera DMC-G1.
Digital camera Lumix G Micro System is based on the new Micro Four Thirds System standard that greatly reduces camera size and weight to further enhance the inherent advantages of the original Four ThirdsTM System standard for digital interchangeable lens cameras. It’s a standard created by Olympus and Panasonic for compact digital cameras which shares the image sensor size and specification with the Four Thirds System.
